Voted the Best Brunch in Ithaca …
… by the Cornell Daily Sun and the Ithaca Times, the high quality of our cuisine is what sets the Carriage House Café apart. We endeavor to use only the finest ingredients, and to source them locally whenever possible. Only this approach can create the best food in Ithaca, New York.
Our ground beef is always purchased locally and is 100% grass fed. We only use Smart Chicken breast, which is certified humane and vegetable-fed, with no added hormones or antibiotics. Our eggs are locally sourced from Autumns Harvest Farm, our greens and other vegetables are provided by several local farms. Our resident CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is Nook and Cranny Farm. Even our most basic sauces (e.g., ketchup and mayonnaise) are all made in-house for the sake of quality and flavor. King Arthur Flour, Cabot 83 European-Style Butter, Delavan Farm’s New York State real maple syrup, and house-made raspberry coulis … the list goes on and on. Our breads — the brioche, nine-grain boule, and french bread — are all baked in-house. Even our fine wine and hand-crafted beer list will surprise you with distinctive choices from around New York State and the world.

Join us in supporting local farmers, and help make the Finger Lakes region healthier and stronger. Just a few of the local farms that we patronize to stock our kitchen include:
“As far as ‘brunch’ goes, this is the best food in Ithaca!”
“I’m writing to commend the staff of your restaurant on a job exceedingly well done this past Saturday.
My family stopped by for brunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday after a friend recommended you, and we were momentarily disappointed to find a 45-minute wait. That disappointment, however, was quickly assuaged when we had the opportunity to taste some of the best coffee and food we’d ever had.
A.J. made the three of us delightful cappuccinos with hearts that looked as good as they tasted, and he managed to engage us in charming conversation while he did so. It was easy to tell that the young man was busy but he was able to make us feel very attended-to.
After being seated, our waitress Constance was equally charming and engaging. Again, the place was packed but we felt pampered, like her only customers. I ended up ordering the brie-stuffed french toast, while my husband and son both had pulled pork sandwiches. Everything was first rate.
It’s nice to know that small establishments that excel in customer service can still be found.”
